Timekeeping Replacement Project
The CalTime timekeeping system required replacement due to the vendor's support ending. To ensure continuity and improve the overall timekeeping experience, two replacement systems, the Time Reporting System (TRS) and CalKronos, were implemented in 2026. The new replacement systems were selected for their ability to meet timekeeping business needs and provide cost efficiency to the campus. Both of the new systems provide new benefits for all campus employees.
The primary objectives of the timekeeping replacement project were to:
Improve the user experience with easy-to-use, more intuitive systems
Ensure employee time is correctly recorded, approved, and reported to UCPath for accurate pay
Enhance the accuracy of timekeeping work rules and pay
Provide the most cost-effective means for campus timekeeping needs
