CalKronos

CalKronos is used by about 1,500 employees with complex 24-hour shift and scheduling requirements. See the section below for specifics.

All employees who use CalKronos are biweekly paid, and are eligible for overtime pay, or non-exempt.

Supervisors of CalKronos employees approve their employees’ time in CalKronos, and they use Time Reporting System (TRS) for their own time reporting.

Highlights of CalKronos

The CalKronos system introduces a modern, tile-based interface that maintains CalTime's familiar functionality while improving efficiency. Key features include:

  • streamlined time-off management with employees requesting time off in the system
  • mobile capabilities for system access from a mobile device
  • robust scheduling features to manage teams
  • self-delegation tool for supervisors to manage workflows when they are out

Additionally, the system provides supervisors and DTAs (Timekeepers) with enhanced reporting insights and increased flexibility in managing attendance data.

Employees who use CalKronos

A small group of approximately 1,500 employees with complex 24-hour shift pay requirements uses CalKronos. The employees moving to CalKronos are:

All bi-weekly paid employees in the following Unions:

  • Skilled Crafts (KB) - ACBCTC
  • Service Unit (SX) - AFSCME
  • Patient Care Technical (EX) - AFSCME
  • Police Officers (PA) and Police Sergeants (SA) – FUPOA

Additional employees:

  • Non-student UC Police Department (UCPD) employees who are paid bi-weekly
  • These additional job titles in Student Affairs Dining Services:
    • Blank Ast 1 (CX) - Teamsters 2010
    • Clerk SR/SCR (CX) - Teamsters 2010
    • Chef 2 (PPSM)
